2016 Manchester Breast Centre PhD Students/PostDocs Symposium
The 2016 Annual Manchester Breast Centre (MBC) PhD Students and PostDocs Symposium will be held on the 28th July, 2016 at the Lecture Theatre of the Michael Smith Building (The University of Manchester).
As in previous years, it is an all-day event which includes oral presentations by PhD Students/Postdocs, a poster presentation session during lunch time and finally a social event to close the day.
This year we will have two scientific external speakers in attendance: as our keynote speaker Dr Matt Smalley from the European Cancer Stem Cell Research Institute in Cardiff, an internationally-recognized leader in the study of stem cells and breast cancer; and Dr Nasreen Akhtar, MBC alumna who has established her own group at the University of Sheffield.
It is also with great pleasure to count during the day with Maggie Wilcox, patient advocate after treatment for breast cancer, and Yarunnessa Khan from Breast Cancer Now, the UK’s largest breast cancer research charity.
